The Online Photographer: Too Close for Comfort
Photojournalist David Proeber was driving along Interstate 55/74 in Normal, Illinois, last Monday when he saw a high-speed police chase coming from the other direction, so he stopped his car and got out his Nikon DSLR, thinking he’d get a few shots of the police cars as they sped past. Much to his surprise, the robbery suspect saw him, screeched to a halt, got out of his car waving his gun, jumped over the median, and ran toward Proeber’s car! Proeber thought he was going to get his car hijacked and perhaps get himself taken hostage, so he high-tailed it out of there. As he drove away, he heard shots ring out—by the time he pulled off on the shoulder again and got back to the scene, police were handcuffing the wounded suspect on the tarmac.
See the pictures at pantagraph.com and read David Proeber’s account of his close call.

I wonder if New Balance would consider using this in an ad campaign. It is a great shot.
